NOTD - Rococo Nail Apparel in Purple Haze

Today's Nail of the Day is ‘Purple Haze’ by Rococo Nail Apparel which is a luxe pearlescent Purple that is highly pigmented and only one coat is needed for a smooth glossy finish. The squared brush meant a quick and even application. The polishes come in their own little box which is a nice touch and a great idea for gifts. They are available in Space NK priced at £11.50 for 14ml.

The next one I have my eye on is 'Scarlett' which is my kind of colour :)

Jane Packer Launches her new Fragrance Collection

International Floral Designer, Jane Packer, launched her new Fragrance Collection last week, consisting of 5 contrasting fragrances, all inspired by the multitude of flowers she has worked with over the last two decades.

Jane Packer believes that just as we would buy a new outfit or adorn ourselves with a precious accessory, we choose a special fragrance to complete our wardrobe. She also believes that women want their fragrance to reflect their personality.

Jane Packer had dreamed of creating her own fragrance for a long time and as a child, being fascinated by flowers, she would try and produce her own fragrances from the petals collected from her garden. Similarly Jane has spent many hours finding the right blends for all of the five fragrances in her new Fragrance Collection, from the initial inception, to the ultimate fruition, and has been instrumental in its development every step of the way.

After one year, the final result being beautiful fragrances that she is proud to wear - a Fragrance Collection that will appeal to all. There are five fragrances, each of which represents different moods, or characters, developed individually and motivated by Jane's love of flowers. The unique bottle and cap combination make them desirable objects for any dressing table.

The Jane Packer Fragrance Collection consists of a beautifully packaged Fragrance, Body Cream and Milk Bath, which are divided into 5 inspiring scents:

From Left to Right: Red Roses, Black Violet & Cyclamen; Green Orchid, Vetiver & Lemon Grass; Gardenia, Cedar Wood & Patchouli; Iris, Jasmine & Sandalwood; Fig, Sandalwood & Amber.

My favourite from the collection is the Fig, Sandalwood & Amber.

The collection will launch exclusively on 1st October at her flagship store in New Cavendish Street and online at http://www.janepacker.com/ It shall also be available at John Lewis and House of Fraser from 15th October.

Eau de Parfum 50ml £45 RRP

NOTD - Rococo Nail Apparel in Peace Out

I have recently been introduced to the Rococo brand of nail polishes and they are long lasting and come in a wide range of high fashion shades. Who are Rococo? Building a cult and underground following, sisters Ange & Vernice have now been in the nail industry for over 15 years. Combining extensive salon experience and creative fashion knowledge the London based duo formulated the fashion forward Rococo Nail Apparel... with a vision of creating the ultimate 'nail wear'... ever changing... A reflection of the moment or an insight into the future, our feelings, our desires, perfection... all expressed in a stunning little bottle....
Today I tried ‘Peace Out’ which is an usual yellow-based green which has a creamy, glossy finish. It gave good coverage in one coat however I found the thick consistency a little difficult to work with compared to the luxe finish. The squared brush meant a quick and even application. The polishes come in their own little box which is a nice touch and a great idea for gifts. They are available in Space NK priced at £11.50 for 14ml.

Chanel Paradoxal V Models Own Purple Grey

Chanel launched their new ‘must have’ A/W limited edition shade ‘Paradoxal’ last month, which proved very popular and sold out in Selfridges within 3 hours! Is it worth all the hype? And worth the £16.50 price tag?
I love all the dirty greyish shades out there at the moment which are very on trend this season. Paradoxal is a beautiful, very deep and vibrant purple with a pearl effect when light is reflected on it. However, it is a bit of a letdown when applied on the nail – the vibrancy of the colour is lost and it also chips very badly. In my opinion a high-end price tag and a luxury brand should mean high-end quality, and in this case it isn’t worth the money.

I would definitely recommend checking out some far cheaper alternatives out there such as Models Own Purple Grey for a purse-friendly £5.

Lovea Bio Monoi de Tahitian Moisturising Hair Mask

I was sent a parcel from My Pure this morning and couldn’t wait to try out the products as they all looked (and smelt) gorgeous! This month you shall be seeing a wide-range of mypure reviews as all of us 50 mypure bloggers have been sent different products, and next month we are able to select our own! This evening I tried out the organically certified Lovea Bio Monoi de Tahiti (yes that’s a mouthful) Hair mask.

At first I thought looking at the packaging was it was a body cream until read the description on the back and realised it was a hair mask! I have tried the Lovea Argan Shampoo (you can read my review here) which I was left a little disappointed with, although it smelt great it left my hair pretty lank. I didn’t however waste the shampoo, I used it to clean my makeup brushes with! Anyway....like the Lovea shampoo, the hair mask also smells divine.... an exotic coconut scent....and something else I can’t quite put my finger on which reminds me very much of holidays.

This mask sounded promising....’moisturising hair mask ideal for repairing hair damaged by the sun, wind and chemical treatments’ my hair definitely need a bit of this! The mask is a thick creamy consistency and after washing my hair I applied this generously to my damp hair and wrapped a warmed towel around my hair. I left the mask on my hair for a good hour then rinsed. It took a while to rinse out thoroughly (maybe I was a little too generous with my application!) The mask can also be used as a leave-in conditioner.

My hair felt soft and silky afterwards, I left my hair to dry naturally without using any products and I was left with smooth waves and curls - usually my hair would be a frizzy/curly mess without using some kind of product. I am pleasantly impressed with this mask as it is the only natural/organic hair care I’ve found to date that actually works! It is also reasonably priced at £7.99 for 300ml.

Superdrug Set to Launch £9.99 Apple 'miracle' Skin Cream

Ever heard of the phrase 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away', well maybe there is some truth in this...as there has been a lot of hype about skin creams containing extracts of a Rare Swiss apple having anti-aging benefits. However, until now, these exclusive skin creams were only for the rich selling for £225 a bottle. Today it has been announced that next month, Superdrug are launching a more affordable version of this ‘miracle’ cream priced at £9.99.

High street store Superdrug have jumped on the bandwagon and are releasing ‘Optimum’ cream which contains the same rare apple stem ingredients (extracts from the Uttwiler Spatlauber Apple tree to be precise) found in other pricey versions such as Clark's Botanicals Cellular lifting serum (£225). Optimum Swiss apple overnight skin renewal serum promises to give a 'fresher and younger-looking complexion' and has a fresh apple scented fragrance.
There are several face creams on the market containing this rare apple extract all boosting high price tags such as 3Lab Super H Serum (£219); 3Lab M Cream (£199) and LancĂ´me Absolute Precious Cells (£122) so for a tenner its worth trying Superdrug’s purse-friendly alternative.
