Lady Gaga is infamous for her bizarre fashion choices and has caused maximum controversy this week by wearing a dress made from raw meat, including a meat hat, bag and meat shoes to the MTV Video Music Awards.
The dress, was the work of Los Angeles-based Argentinian designer Franc Fernandez, has sparked outrage from animal rights activists who believe this is very much in bad taste. Gaga defended herself by saying she wore the dress to make a protest that women in the music industry are treated like pieces of meat.
Elaborating on her choice of fashion during the DeGeneres interview - which took place after the VMAs - Gaga said the dress had "many interpretations". She said: "As you know I am the most judgement free human being on the earth.
"If we don't stand up for what we believe in and don't stand up for our rights pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones." The controversy comes just after Gaga posed on the front cover of Japanese Vogue in a bikini also apparently made from raw meat.
Was Gaga attention seeking again and trying to make headlines with another crazy outfit? Has she pushed it too far this time?

ReplyDeleteI'm not quite sure what my stance is on this. I don't eat meat and haven't done for 5 or so years, although I'm not the type of person to force my views on other people and I'll happily sit next to someone eating a burger and it won't bother me. I think if she wore fur instead of raw meat she would of caused a lot more controversy and then I'd definately call it distasteful! Hmm it's a hard one xx
