Elle A/W Event at Harvey Nichols‏

On Tuesday evening I attended the Elle Magazine Shopping Event at Harvey Nichols in Leeds to celebrate Elle's 25th Anniversary and preview the hot new season Beauty trends. We enjoyed a variety of beauty demonstrations, mini-makeovers, massages, make-up and skincare tutorials from the experts to offer tips and advice on the forthcoming Autumn/Winter 2010 trends.

We were treated to some delicious Skyy Vodka cocktails and fancy nibbles:

Of course some purchases were made:

From the Estee Lauder counter I got Disapear smoothing creme Concealer in 02 light. I suffer with dark circles and have tried pretty much all of the concealers out there and this is one of my favourites that I have now used for years, this is likely to be the forth time I've re-purchased!

I have heard many You Tube Beauty Gurus rave about the Daywear plus so I thought I would try this for days when I dont want to wear any makeup but still look fresh and glowy. I have tried it out today and I'm very impressed it gives a lovely natural fresh bronzey glow to the face. However it is pricey at £30 for 50ml.

I recieved a free gift from the Estee Lauder counter, which was very generous. The gift consisted of a large dark brown leather-look handbag and smaller makeup bag; a brush set; EL cleanser; EL Sumptuous mascara; EL Softening lotion; Lipstick in Dune Rose; and 2 eyeshadow and blush palettes.

Next was to the Aveda counter...I love creating alot of volume in my hair and heard good things about Aveda Pure Abundance hair potion from Lollipop26. It is a strange thickening texturiser which is in powder form that turns into a watery gel when activated then goes to nothing when rubbed into your roots. Have to say its pricey - £17.50 for 20g, although it seems nice on first application, I'm certain there are cheaper alternatives out there.

I also recieved a goody bag at the Aveda counter which included:
Aveda Hand Relief hand moisturizer for stressed skin,
Aveda Foot Relief cream,
Aveda Conserve Strengthening Treatment,
Pure Abundance volumising shampoo and clay conditioner.

Last of all I picked up a sample of Creme de la mer eye balm intense....interested to see if this is worth the £95 pricetag?! Let me know if you rate Creme de la mer skincare?

  4. When we talk about the best makeup brands we know of, generally drugstore makeup gains a mention due to its affordability and accessibility. Best Selling Women’s Beauty Products
