OPI Katy Perry Collection

OPI is collaborating with chart topping megastar Katy Perry to release a new line of polishes inspired by her innovative style. Apparently, Katy approached OPI do to the collection, have to say I'm very surprised they haven't teamed up sooner. A professed nail fanatic, Perry always uses the red carpet to show off her daring nail designs (customized Russell Brand manicure, anyone?) and regularly posts pictures of her amazing nail art on Twitter.

The Katy Perry Collection by OPI will include four glamorous shades: Teenage Dream (a dreamy pink glitter), Not Like the Movies (a sultry silver), Last Friday Night (a fierce glittery blue), and The One That Got Away (an amazing deep berry). But the breakout hit of the collection is sure to be Black Shatter, a revolutionary topcoat that creates a cracked/leopard pattern when applied over dried nail lacquer.

I got the chance last week to get a sneak preview of the collection. I was a little disappointed with the shades; the glitters are very sheer when applied and chunky. The only polish that stood out for me is the ‘The one that got away’ apart from that the colours were a little too bland for my liking. The Shatter polish is great though – similar to the Barry M version!

The Katy Perry Collection by OPI will be available from January 2011 priced at £10.50.

  1. I've seen other swatches of these where they looked fantastic. I'm going to have to see more before I can make a decision.
