Review: Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Calming Facial Mask

I was very lucky to be sent a couple of face masks to try out this week. I tend to use a mix of different types of facial masks depending on how my skin is feeling - sometimes I like to use a clay mask if I have a few blemishes, a moisturising mask if my skin is feeling dry, and other times I like to just pop a mask on in the bath to give myself a treat!

Yes to Cucumbers Calming Facial Mask
You may remember I raved about the Yes to Cucumber Face Wipes? (I’m not a huge fan of face wipes generally!) I was keen to try more products out from the same range as all of the 'yes to cucumbers' products are free from petroleum, SLS, and parabens which gets the thumbs up from me!

I tested out the Yes To Cucumbers Calming Face Mask which is the perfect Friday Night treat! The packaging is non fussy and simple, and the pot is a nice size for travelling. I also like the inside lid has a handy gripper - nothing more annoying when you can never get the seal off and the product goes everywhere! Cucumbers are packed with vitamins A and C, this mask also includes Aloe Vera, Vitamin E to rebuild, protect and soothe sensitive skin and detoxifying Dead Sea Mud.

Texture of the mask
The texture is very strange for a mask and hard to describe...is it a mouse? a mud clay? a thick cream? dry? solid? I'd say it is a mix between all three and is it non messy to apply which always a bonus. It smells fresh and like cucumbers - strangely enough!

I applied a thin layer all over my face, avoiding the eye and mouth area, although it says to leave this mask on for 5 minutes, I got a bit carried away and left it on 20 minutes whilst watching Big Brother! I rinsed the mask off using warm water - I would actually only recommend leaving on for 10 minutes max as with it being on longer it had dried onto my skin it took some shifting to take off! My skin felt smooth afterwards and although it is not as drying as a traditional clay mask it is still as effective to drawing out the oil, dirt and impurities.

Yes to cucumbers Soothing Calming Face Mask is available from Victoria Health and is priced at £11.99

Have you tried any of the Yes to Cucumbers range? What were your thoughts?
