January 2012 Special Edition Valentines GLOSSYBOX

I arrived home late last night to a nice surprise - January's Limited Edition Glossybox. This month's Glossybox was sent out a little later than usual  but everyone was pre-warned about this before Christmas as it was going to be a special box so worth the wait. If you are not aware, Glossybox is a subscription package that sends you a box of 5 luxury beauty samples beautifully wrapped to your door to try out every month for the price of £10 per month + postage & packaging then if you like you are able to buy the full size product discounted. You can read more about Glossybox here and I reviewed last month's limited edition box here and November 2011's box here

This month's box is a Limited Edition Valentine's Day Edition with 5 perfecting products to pamper and preen yourself and perk yourself up after the January Blues! The packaging is beautifully wrapped as usual, but their signature dusky pink and black has been changed to a hot barbie pink box which I LOVE and inside is pink shredded tissue paper and a heart sticker to fit in with the Valentine's theme. So let's get on to what's inside...

EYEKO Skinny Eyeliner (value £9.50)
Eyeko have recently re-branded their makeup range but I have yet to try or see any of the new products so pleased that this has been included this month. This is the only full size product in this month's box. I much prefer the new logo and packaging which has a grown up feel but I would say their prices are too steep. The eyeliner is smaller than average but it has a long silver handle that looks like a cigarette holder so when you sharpen down the pencil you still are able to grip. The eyeliners come in 6 shades and I received the shade 'emerald green' which normally I would have gone with safe black or brown but this will be lovely to compliment my bluey/green eyes. The eyeliner is highly pigmented, soft and creamy so blends well and you can create either an all over base or a bold or soft line.

ORLY Mini Nail Lacquer (value £2.65)
This is a mini Orly polish in the shade 'Ruby' which is a classic dark red perfect for valentines day! I love the shape of the bottle and the lid is great for gripping to ensure you apply the polish evenly and it's a nice little size for travelling with or trying before buying the full size.

WELEDA One Step Cleanser & Toner (value 99p)
I have Weleda Body Oil in the past which I enjoyed using and since I'm a fan of natural and organic products this ticks all the boxes for me - I try to steer clear of anything with harsh chemicals, especially for my face! This one step cleanser and toner all in one is great for taking off your makeup and cleansing if you are in a rush or for when your travelling and you try to pack light! I applied the cleansing oil to dry skin, massaged in and then added water which turns the oily lotion into a milk which you then rinse off. It smells lovely and clean with a refreshing citrus scent. This is perfect for me as I tend to travel a lot so always after mini space saving products.

F.A.B (First Aid Beauty) Gentle Body Wash (value £3.25)
I have not tried any products from this brand before but I love their retro packaging and that it is another product with no chemical nasties in, so this is another product that is right up my street! I'm looking forward to trying this, it's as if Glossybox knows I've been travelling loads this month! This body wash is to cleanse, calm redness and relieve dry skin. It is safe for sensitive skin as its fragrance free, and contains no parabens, alcohol, or harsh chemicals.

MURAD Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer (value £4.83)
This is an oil-free primer to give a dewy finish and radiant glow which is worn after moisturising and either underneath foundation or on its own for a fresh look. I have already tried this product before when it was launched a few months back but it's nice to have a travel sized version to pop in my bag.

Whether your in a relationship or are single this box is perfect for pampering yourself and cheering yourself up from the January Blues. I thought that last month's Christmas Limited Edition box was going to be difficult to beat, but I think this valentines box is the best to date! I love the bright pink packaging and this month's box had a nice variation of products and an added bonus of a piece of Glossybox rock!
After having a nosy at what others received this month it seems that people got different products which it's nice to see a variety and the boxes have been tailored more to people's preferences? I have roughly added up the value of the products this month and it comes to £21.22, which is surprisingly one of lowest values I have received but I like this box the best! That shows it's not about receiving expensive and full size products its more about what use you will get out of the items and opening yourself up to trying new brands.

For £10 plus P&P is it definitely worth the money if you enjoy sampling high-end products and it's a nice little treat each month, you can find out more here and order one for yourself or as a gift. Any men reading this would make a perfect Valentine gift to your loved one...you will sure score some brownie points, plus you don't even need to think about wrapping it! I would like to thank the Glossybox team for generously sending me the box as a surprise! Did you order this month's Glossybox? What were your thoughts?

  3. I got the exact same box as you!

Overall the box was a lovely gift for valentines.

However, I was rather disappointed with the Eyeko eyeliner in emerald green, probably wont ever use it. I noticed a lot of people were getting the pale pinky colour one!

Love the Orly nail polish though!! Been wanting to try one for ages :)
