Thinking Slimmer

You may have noticed that I have a new Tab 'Health & Lifestyle'. I shall be sharing with you my mum's experience of #thinkingslimmer as she intends to loose 3 stone.

Like the start of every New Year, my mum says 'Right I must loose some weight'.....whilst eating another biscuit 'I'll start the diet tomorrow!' ...she never sticks to it! She has got into bad habits with eating since she works from home and looks after my niece and nephew she tends to snack throughout the day. She drinks far too much tea and coffee and being a chocoholic is always picking at biscuits, crisps, chocolates, deserts, double cream, and she has an issue with butter! I'm forever telling her off for spreading Lupak Butter an inch thick but she doesn't listen which is frustrating! She doesn't eat enough vegetables or salad, which I also tell her off for - I sound like the Mum here don't I?!

In the past she has dabbled with many fad diets: Atkins, Weight Watchers & Slimming World which she did loose 2 stone in quite a short space of time....then piled the weight back on. The last year or so my mum has really piled the weight on around her stomach, has a high cholesterol and also been experiencing pains in her hip. She is now determined to loose weight and gain a healthier lifestyle through the help of the 'Thinking Slimmer' 42 day programme and listening to a Slimpod for 10 minutes each night before she goes to sleep. Simple as that.

'Slimpods' are a series of unique voice recordings which help people to achieve effective weight loss, whether you want to lose 5lbs or 5 stones. Unlike other methods of losing weight, there are no diets, no calorie counting and no willpower required. Slimpods have been developed by Harley Street experts and use modern approaches to the science of unconscious persuasion to gently retune the mind and adjust the way slimmers think about the world, especially in relation to food, health and fitness.'

Goals Set:
  • Loose 3 stone by July 2012 and be a size 12/14
  • Live a healthier lifestyle
  • Eat smaller portion sizes and change bad eating habits
  • Drink less Tea/Coffee and more Water & Green Tea
  • Exercise more - Swimming/Walking/Yoga/Pilates
Monday Measurements (6/2/12):

Height: 5 ft 6
Weight: 13.5 Stone
Hips: 42.5 inches
Thighs: 24.5 inches
Arms: 12.5 inches
Bust: 39.5 inches
Waist: 44 inches

My mum will be keeping a daily diary/log of what she has eaten and how she feels and any successes (or failures) she faces. Sandra Roycroft-Davis (founder of Thinking Slimmer) advises to forget the scales and use a measuring tape instead. My mum began her weight loss today (6th Feb 2012) and we shall be measuring her weekly every Monday until she reaches her goal. I shall talk more about SlimPods and 'Thinking Slimmer' as  time goes on but if you would like to read more then you can visit the website here

I shall be supporting her along the way and I am quite intrigued to see the results and whether it is possible to loose weight and change eating habits by re-tuning your subconscious mind. Are you looking to loose weight? Have you ever heard of 'Thinking Slimmer'?
