You may have heard of MYA Clinic as it was recently shown on
ITV’s The Only Way is Essex – they offer a range of surgical and non surgical
beauty treatments. One popular treatment they offer is a Chemical Skin Peel –
Marie Fowler from TOWIE said ‘my skin glows thanks to MYA Beautiful Face’ after
her Chemical Skin Peel at the Celebrity favourite Clinic.
A Chemical Skin Peel is a technique designed to remove the
dead skin cells from the skin’s surface layer and re-stimulate the regenerative
process. It’s a great way to revitalise your skin by peeling away the dull
layers and revealing the healthy new skin calls beneath, leaving you with a
fresh and radiant complexion. Chemical Peels remove excessive build-up of dead
skin calls, smoothes and tightens the skin, lightens brown spots, diminishes puffiness
and circles around the eyes and treats sun damaged skin. MYA offer a range of
skin peels and strengths including non-glycolic (no skin shedding) peels which
don’t require any time to recover after the treatment but provide visible
results but without the redness.
During a chemical peel treatment at MYA, you would meet with
your practitioner who will design a bespoke peel specifically tailored to match
with your skin type and desired results. The skin is cleansed before the peel
is applied evenly with a brush; the chemicals in the peel are derived from
fruit, vinegar and sugar cane along with added vitamins. A layer of wet gauze
is placed over the area treated and the peel is activated with cold water. When
the peel is finished, the gauze is removed and sun protection is applied to the
new skin. The entire procedure lasts 30 minutes and you are able to leave MYA
with gorgeous glowing skin and no need for intensive recovery time.
Benefits of a Skin Peel:
- Reveals healthy glowing skin
- Able to penetrate into the deep layers of the skin
- Creates a smoother complexion for makeup application
- Helps reduce age spots, fine lines and scarring
- Gentle rejuvenation without the need for down time or unsightly skin shedding (if non-glycolic)
I have had non-glycolic skin peels in the past and they are great especially if you have got a special occasion coming up as they really do make your makeup apply more flawlessly and give your skin a healthy glow. I was worried the treatment was going to be painful, but I found although it did sting for a few minutes but it wasn’t at all uncomfortable. I may consider a stronger option in the future as I do have a few pigmentation marks (from picking spots – bad habit I know!). Have you ever considered a Chemical Skin Peel?
